Burbank sits in the Los Angeles basin and San Fernando Valley: semi-arid, ten-plus dry months, so the dominant carpet problem is fine abrasive dust and dry soil ground into pile rather than mud. Sandy silt from dry yards, freeway and construction dust, and Santa Ana wind grit accumulate in traffic lanes and dull fibers before visible staining appears. That is why a carpet can look tired without a single spot on it. Low humidity helps with drying. It usually isn't, and we say so.

Hot water extraction is the right choice for most nylon and Stainmaster carpet and for anything with pet contamination, because it flushes rather than just cleans the surface. Low-moisture encapsulation is the better call for older 1920s-1940s bungalows, where wall-to-wall carpet is often laid over original oak strip flooring and overwetting risks cupping the wood beneath. We do not promise every stain comes out. Bleach, dye loss, pet urine that has already changed the fiber color, and old set-in spots that a previous cleaner locked in with the wrong product are often permanent.
